19-year-old Demian Augustin is attracting interest from Eredivisie clubs, while his father believes the midfielder is ready for senior football. The Arsenal talent is training with Mikel Arteta's side, and his left foot is likened to Hakim Ziyech's.

19-year-old Arsenal midfielder Demian Augustin has garnered interest from multiple Eredivisie clubs. Despite not yet making his first-team debut for the Londoners, his father, Kemi Augustin, insists it's time for his son to make the leap into adult football.

Born in the Netherlands, Augustin honed his skills in England, having trained at the academies of West Bromwich Albion and Derby County before joining Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.

Currently, the attacking midfielder is playing for Arsenal's Under-21 team and is already part of training sessions under manager Mikel Arteta. His father emphasizes the importance of his involvement with the first team for Demian's development.

Kemi Augustin shared his thoughts:

He learns both the finer details and more significant aspects. Every touch is quality, and the speed of the ball movement is too. He’s benefiting immensely from this.

Highlighting his son's left foot, Augustin Sr. drew a comparison to former Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech:

His left foot really is something special. You could compare him a bit to Hakim Ziyech; he also has a superb left foot.

When the ball is under Demian’s left foot, he can place it or strike it exactly where he intends. I think he possesses that ability already.

The family acknowledges that transitioning to regular adult football is the next critical step for Demian, who is already attracting interest from unnamed Eredivisie clubs:

At some point, he really needs to start playing senior football. This year is crucial for him to demonstrate his abilities and continue his development, and then the next stage will follow naturally.

Kemi believes that the midfielder has the potential to reach the top levels of football but needs to bolster his confidence:

He has the qualities to reach the very highest levels. In my opinion, he needs to believe in himself more and not be afraid to show his character.

If Augustin doesn't get regular opportunities in Arsenal's first team over the coming months, a loan move or transfer to another club could be on the horizon to ensure he gets the playing time he needs.
