Everton are keeping a close eye on midfielder Teon Koopmeiners of Juventus as they prepare for the upcoming January transfer window. The Italian side is willing to consider a departure for the 28-year-old Dutchman, who has seen limited action this season.
Having played just 131 minutes in Serie A, Koopmeiners is open to a change of scenery. Juventus is amenable to discussing both a full transfer and a loan deal if a suitable option arises during the winter window.
Everton showed considerable interest in the midfielder over the summer but have not let go of that ambition. However, strengthening the central midfield is currently not seen as a top priority for David Moyes's squad.
With James Garner, Harrison Armstrong, and Hayden Hackney starting the season brightly, and Christian Nörgaard nearing a return from injury, the pressing need to bolster this area has diminished.
Koopmeiners joined Juventus from Atalanta in 2024 for £46 million but has failed to cement a regular first-team spot since. Nonetheless, his experience remains appealing, boasting over 160 Serie A appearances and 24 matches in the Champions League.
His previous season with Atalanta was particularly impressive, as he contributed 22 goal involvements across all competitions in the 2023/24 campaign.
Despite the interest in Koopmeiners, Everton's primary objective for January remains the search for a striker. The club is still in touch with the representatives of Folarin Balogun after a summer move from Monaco fell through due to a failed medical.
