Former Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is set to continue his career at Turkish side Trabzonspor, having signed a two-year deal. The 34-year-old Egyptian forward joins the club as a free agent.
Following the conclusion of last season, Trabzonspor finished third in the league and were in search of a top-tier player capable of closing the gap on rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
Financial terms and record salary
According to reports from The Sun and Bloomberg, Salah's transfer has resulted in the highest salary in Turkish football history.
Base salary: The Egyptian is set to earn around €17 million per season (approximately £280,000 per week).
Bonuses: The deal includes a signing bonus of €5 million, raising Salah's weekly earnings to £360,000, surpassing the previous record held by Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray (€15 million a year).
Commercial rights: As reported by The Guardian, the contract includes image rights and a percentage of shirt sales, making Salah a key commercial asset for the club.
His experience as a Champions League winner and two-time Premier League champion is expected to significantly bolster the attacking lineup under the guidance of Fatih Tekke.
