The Merseyside club is demonstrating the most serious intent to bring back their former academy graduate to Anfield.

According to the publication Fussballdaten, Liverpool has an advantage over the other Premier League contenders: there is a fixed buy-back option in the English defender's contract with the German club, set at €80 million.
