Leeds United have struck a deal with Borussia Monchengladbach to bring in 29-year-old Swiss central defender Nico Elvedi.
According to BBC Sport, Elvedi is set to arrive in the UK on Monday for a medical examination and to finalise his contract with the Yorkshire club.
The total transfer fee is £8.5 million (around €10 million), with Leeds set to pay £6.8 million upfront and an additional £1.7 million in bonuses. The deal also includes a 15% sell-on clause for any future transfer.
Elvedi has previously played under Leeds manager Daniel Farke during his time at Monchengladbach, which could be a significant factor in the move.
The acquisition of Elvedi paves the way for Belgian defender Sebastian Bornauw to depart Leeds for Hamburg.
Since joining Borussia in 2015, Elvedi has made over 360 appearances and was a key member of the Swiss national team during the recent World Cup.
