Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has shared his thoughts on the team's displays under Xabi Alonso, offering advice to the club regarding their transfer policy.
The Nigerian pundit expressed his admiration for the tactical preparation of the side ahead of their match against Manchester United, praising their progress compared to the fixture against Juventus:
Xabi Alonso has led a team that was full of confidence from start to finish; we pressed exceptionally well. Tactically, he made Amorim look completely helpless.
I want us to KEEP Nicolas Jackson and Pedro Neto because, looking at how Alonso wants to structure the play, these players fit perfectly into his system. Palestra was fantastic, as was Acheampong, and Joao Pedro is obviously our most in-form and simply our best player right now.
Overall, I think our performance has taken a massive step forward compared to the game against Juventus.
