Milan's Inter are preparing to let go of midfielder Davide Frattesi ahead of the transfer window's closure. Head coach Cristian Kivu is eager to bring in Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, but for this to materialise, the club needs to create room in the squad and increase their transfer budget.
Squad clearance and Juventus interest
According to Tuttosport, Inter view the departure of Frattesi, along with Cristian Aslani, as essential in their pursuit of Jones:
- Frattesi’s difficult season: The 26-year-old Italian played 33 matches in the 2025/26 season but started just 6 times and failed to contribute any goals or assists.
- Financial considerations: Inter are valuing Frattesi at €30 million, but a bid around €25 million including bonuses could convince the Milan club to part with the player.
- Potential suitors: Juventus are also interested in the midfielder, with their coach Luciano Spalletti being a long-standing admirer of Frattesi’s talent.
The situation with Curtis Jones
Christian Kivu has been keen on adding 25-year-old England international Jones to his ranks since January, looking to enhance his midfield with the player's athleticism, versatility, and technical flexibility designed for Serie A.
Jones has already agreed personal terms with Inter. However, Liverpool are holding firm on their asking price of approximately €40 million. With just one year left on his contract at Anfield, Inter hope to negotiate a lower price as the deadline approaches, financing Jones's transfer through the sale of Frattesi.
