25-year-old winger Mykhailo Mudryk from London’s «Chelsea» could continue his career at «Coventry City» under Frank Lampard.
The new Premier League club is among three top-flight clubs showing interest in loaning the Ukrainian footballer.
Return to action after lifting the ban
Mudryk has not appeared on the pitch since November 2024 due to a doping investigation linked to the detection of meldonium. The Football Association (FA) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) have officially closed the case and removed restrictions on the player.
Opportunity for Lampard
The most likely scenario is a loan, which would allow Mudryk to receive regular playing time.
The coach factor: Frank Lampard has previously worked with Mudryk during his second tenure at «Stamford Bridge» and hopes to include the winger in the squad at «Coventry City».
Rivals: In addition to «Coventry City», two unnamed Premier League clubs and three European teams have also shown interest in the player.
The official return of «Coventry City» to the Premier League is set for August 21, with a match against London’s «Arsenal».
