Crystal Palace have made a move for Monaco midfielder Lamine Kone, putting forward a €50 million bid.
However, the French club promptly turned down the offer, holding out for a minimum of €60 million. Both Liverpool and Manchester United are also monitoring the situation closely.
Monaco boss Filipe Luis made it clear that he intends to keep hold of the player. His declaration came in the aftermath of a friendly victory against Liverpool, where Kone excelled alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch.
“I am very selfish and want to keep all my players... he is likely one of the best midfielders in the world,” said Luis.
Kone's contract runs until 2029, and Monaco have already raked in €105 million from player sales this summer. With no urgent pressure to sell, the French side are in a position to wait for more lucrative offers from Manchester United and other clubs.
