Former footballer Jason Cundy has made a bold claim. He is convinced that Chelsea will finally end their decade-long wait for a championship this season.
Cundy believes that the absence of European competitions gives the London side a crucial advantage over their rivals.
“Chelsea have something special. We have a cheat code… Chelsea play one match a week, and manager Xabi Alonso knows how to win titles,” Cundy stated during an appearance on the Sports Bar show on talkSPORT.
He particularly highlighted the attacking trio of Joao Pedro, Morgan Rogers, and Cole Palmer as vital cogs in their title challenge.
Cundy also pointed out that Alonso is one of only two managers in the league with the experience of winning a championship, alongside Mikel Arteta.
While he admitted he still has some doubts about goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, it didn’t sway his ultimate conclusion.
“Chelsea will win the Premier League title,” he concluded without a shadow of a doubt.
This summer, the Blues have significantly bolstered their squad.
They welcomed new signings including Morgan Rogers, Danny Welbeck, Jordan Henderson, Marco Palastra, and Maxence Lacroix to the team.
