Tottenham's Mickey van de Ven has expressed his delight following the official confirmation of his new contract with the club.
Reflecting on his decision to extend his stay at Spurs, the Dutch defender highlighted his attachment to the club and his progress since joining:
'This is a special moment – signing a new contract is a point of pride for me and my family. I've always loved Spurs from the first day I stepped through the door. I love the club, I love the fans, and I have developed really well here.'
'The direction the club wants to take is clear, and I want to be part of that. I'm excited about what the future holds for us,' Van de Ven added.
Tottenham originally signed Van de Ven from German side Wolfsburg in the summer of 2023 for a reported fee of €40 million.
Last season, the 25-year-old central defender featured in 45 matches across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing one assist.
In total, Van de Ven has made 96 appearances for Spurs, netting 10 goals and three assists, and was instrumental in helping Tottenham secure the UEFA Europa League title in the 2024/25 season.
