Young winger Rio Nguema has hailed the contributions of Andoni Iraola in enhancing his game at Liverpool, coinciding with his recent selection for the England squad.
Last season, the 18-year-old burst onto the scene under Arne Slot, featuring in 29 matches and netting two goals in the Premier League.
His impressive form has continued even after Iraola's arrival at Anfield. This season, Nguema has already played five games across all competitions, starting three of them.
The Reds' winger has enjoyed greater freedom in the attacking third. While Nguema usually prefers to operate from the left, he has also been deployed on the right flank by Iraola, providing him with an additional avenue to impact matches.
Nguema believes these tactical adjustments have added a new dimension to his play. He’s expressed his gratitude for Iraola’s guidance and the support from the entire coaching staff.
Everything is going well. The coach is really helping me, and the whole staff as well—I can’t find enough words to thank them. I’m enjoying it. I’m playing on both the left and right flanks, so it’s given me another tool to take on defenders.
