28-year-old Swedish forward Victor Diekeresh of Arsenal is actively seeking a move to Barcelona. According to Spanish journalist Victor Navarro (COPE), the striker's camp is reportedly contacting the Catalan club daily, offering him as an alternative after the failed transfer of Julian Alvarez from Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona is urgently looking for a star central striker after Atletico's CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin categorically refused to let Alvarez go.
Despite being the Gunners' top scorer in his debut season with 21 goals in 55 matches, Diekeresh is unhappy with his situation in London due to frequent exclusion from the starting XI for crucial matches, including the Champions League final. The Swedish forward is eager to secure a permanent spot in Hansi Flick's tactical setup.
Diekeresh's current contract with Arsenal runs until 2030. The Gunners, having paid €63.5 million for the forward, are under no financial pressure and are unlikely to let him go without a substantial benefit.
