Van Bommel comments on Jesus' promise to give Ronaldo playing time

Belgium manager Mark van Bommel has weighed in on Jorge Jesus' commitment to provide Cristiano Ronaldo with game time.

The Dutch coach emphasised that a manager should never make guarantees to players about being on the pitch.

“If you make such a promise, you must keep it. I have never promised a player that he will play because you never know what might happen,” said Van Bommel.
