15-Second Brief
Brothers Jurriën and Quinten Timber started for the Netherlands for the first time in their careers during the Nations League match against Greece.

Arsenal star Jurriën Timber and Crystal Palace midfielder Quinten Timber made history for the Netherlands national team. The twin brothers took the field together for the first time from the start in an official Nations League match against Greece. Jurriën played as a right centre-back alongside Virgil van Dijk, while Quinten positioned himself in midfield.

Previously, the brothers had shared the pitch in the national team setup, debuting together in September 2024 against Bosnia and Herzegovina, and later facing Germany. They became only the third pair of twins in the history of the Netherlands national team to play together, following the legendary Rene and Willy van de Kerkhof, and Frank and Ronald de Boer. However, the match against Greece was particularly special as it marked their first time in the starting lineup for the Oranje.

This game represents a significant milestone for Jurriën, especially after a long recovery from a groin injury that kept him out of the 2026 World Cup. Meanwhile, Quinten has solidified his place in midfield for the national side, having made the switch from Marseille to Crystal Palace over the summer.
