Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has shared his thoughts on the Premier League’s top six for the upcoming season, identifying defending champions Arsenal as the frontrunners.
In his assessment, Sherwood stated:
I think Arsenal are still the team that will be hard to surpass. They previously lacked the ability to take the final step and win the title, but now they know what it’s like to be champions, and that pressure is no longer on them.
He placed Manchester City in second, despite Enzo Maresca’s side suffering a 0-3 defeat to Arsenal in the Community Shield. Chelsea and Liverpool followed closely behind in third and fourth respectively.
His final prediction looks like this:
- Arsenal
- Manchester City
- Chelsea
- Liverpool
- Tottenham
- Manchester United
Referring to Liverpool, Sherwood acknowledged that Andoni Iraola will need time to rebuild the team, while he believes Manchester United may miss out on the Champions League due to the added burden of European competitions.
