Former Tottenham and Brentford manager Thomas Frank is eager to make a Premier League comeback. Having been out of work since February, the 52-year-old is closely monitoring the situation at various clubs.
According to reports from Football Insider, Crystal Palace and Fulham are two potential options for Frank. However, neither club currently plans to make an immediate change in their managerial positions.
Ex-Manchester United scout Mick Brown commented:
Thomas Frank will undoubtedly be keen to get back into the Premier League soon. It’s tough for any manager to be out of the game. He’s currently working as a pundit and trying to stay busy, but his desire to return to day-to-day management hasn’t faded.
I’m sure he’s keeping a close eye on the situation at a few clubs, including Crystal Palace and Fulham as potential options.
Brown stressed that there are no concrete negotiations or imminent coaching changes in play:
I don’t think either of these clubs plans to change managers anytime soon. However, Frank is certainly on their radar as he is still held in high regard.
Crystal Palace did show interest in Frank earlier this year but ended up appointing Pierre Sage. The start of the season has been rocky for the Eagles, conceding 11 goals in their first four Premier League matches, although results have improved recently.
The situation at Fulham is also challenging. Under Alvaro Arbeloa, the team is yet to secure a win, but the hierarchy remains supportive of the Spanish manager and has no immediate plans to dismiss him during the international break.
Frank's last job was with Tottenham, where he parted ways in February. Nevertheless, the Dane has a solid reputation stemming from his successful stint at Brentford, where he managed to establish the club in the Premier League despite significantly lower financial resources compared to the bigger clubs.
At this stage, Frank is in a position to bide his time for the right offer. If circumstances at Crystal Palace or Fulham change over the course of the season, his name could certainly come into consideration.
