Liverpool midfielder Dominik Soboszlai believes a strong team spirit is developing under new manager Andoni Iraola. The Hungarian made his comments following a dramatic 2-2 away draw against Newcastle at St James' Park.
During the match, the Reds found themselves behind twice. Firstly, Cody Gakpo levelled the score after Anthony Elanga's early goal, and in stoppage time, Soboszlai kept his cool to convert a penalty, securing a valuable point for the club.
“We are still getting to know each other – the whole team and coaching staff. But we have a great bunch and a good team spirit, and that’s all you need for success,” Soboszlai reflected.
This match marked Andoni Iraola's first official game in charge of Liverpool after he took over from Arne Slot.
