Manchester City's forward Ryan Cherki has firmly rejected media claims of a rift between him and fellow French international Michael Olise, describing the whole story as a work of fiction.
Last week, L'Equipe published an article suggesting that the reserved Olise struggles to connect with the more flamboyant Cherki off the pitch, referencing tensions that allegedly arose from jokes during training sessions.
This report came at a time when Olise has been shining for the national team under new manager Zinedine Zidane, notably scoring the winner against Belgium and netting a free kick to secure a draw against Italy (1-1).
In response to the circulating stories, Cherki took to social media to quote the article and cheekily remarked:
Another creation... magnificent inspiration.
