Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has pinpointed the main problem facing Chelsea as they gear up for the 2026/27 season. The former player believes the Blues urgently need to bolster their goalkeeper position before the summer transfer window closes.
Scholes is convinced that Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez would be the ideal addition for the London club. According to the expert, the Argentine would bring the necessary quality and experience that Chelsea requires ahead of the new campaign.
“I think the goalkeeper position at Chelsea is still a problem. If I were at Chelsea, I'd definitely be keeping an eye on Aston Villa's Emiliano Martinez, especially since his move to Juventus fell through. He could be signed for a song. I’m sure he would be a top signing for them,” Scholes stated.
