Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has faced the press following a crushing 3-0 loss to Brighton, revealing his dissatisfaction with the team’s performance. The Spaniard highlighted frequent technical mistakes that plagued the Gunners throughout the match.
Arteta described the result as deeply disappointing, singling out a disastrous start to the game:
“This is a very frustrating result and performance. Brighton were on a completely different level. We played poorly technically and didn’t respect the game.”
The manager noted that the first 20 to 30 minutes of the match proved crucial to the defeat:
“In those opening minutes, the number of technical errors kept putting us under pressure. It all stemmed from our start.”
Arteta acknowledged that Arsenal failed to display their usual standards:
“First and foremost, I want to congratulate Brighton. I’m very disappointed. This is a major lesson that we need to learn.”
Nevertheless, he didn’t downplay his side’s previous successes:
