Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed his team's ambition to push on following their long-awaited triumph in the Premier League.
The Gunners are gearing up for a showdown for the Community Shield against Manchester City, with the Spanish tactician eager to kick off the season by claiming another piece of silverware.
It's intriguing to note that Arteta is now the longest-serving manager at a Premier League club, especially considering that nine teams have changed their managers over the summer.
“We know our game, and it’s tied to what we’ve been showing consistently over the last four or five years, but we also recognise how we can improve, and that’s what we’re focusing on,” Arteta said.
“We need to maintain this consistency, which you call stability, but I don’t want to be stable; I want to be better and more ambitious, that’s what we want,” the Spaniard added.
He also praised the calibre of his coaching counterparts in the league.
“I think this league is full of incredible managers, so preparing for matches against them every week is very challenging,” he confessed.
“So this will elevate our level, my level for sure, and we’ll strive to improve,” the manager concluded.
Arsenal will commence their title defence in the opening weekend of the new season, facing Manchester United as their first opponents.
