Manchester United have turned their sights to 27-year-old left-back David Raum from RB Leipzig, following a botched attempt to sign Lewis Hall from Newcastle United.
The Red Devils are eager to wrap up a deal for the German full-back before the transfer window slams shut. A critical element in these negotiations is Raum's contract situation, which has just 12 months left with his current club. RB Leipzig are reluctant to let the player leave for free next summer and are open to selling him now if a suitable offer comes in.
Raum is being viewed by both club officials and Michael Carrick as a perfect solution for the left flank of the defence. The defender has consistent Champions League experience, has appeared in World Cups, and demonstrates a high level of performance both defensively and offensively.
