Manchester United are gearing up for a significant defensive revamp, aiming to bring in three new defenders ahead of the next season. The standout target on their radar is Wesley, the right-back from AS Roma, according to Theatre of Red journalist Sean Connolly.
The Red Devils are reportedly on the hunt for players across both flanks of the backline, as well as a central defender to complement the current duo of Leni Yoro and Aiden Heaven.
Wesley, 23, has garnered plenty of admirers during his time at Carrington, having netted five goals in 30 Serie A matches last season, including a notable assist in the current campaign.
Moreover, INEOS remains keen on signing left-back Lewis Hall from Newcastle, despite him recently committing to a long-term contract with the club. An alternative option being considered for that position is Tyrick Mitchell from Crystal Palace.
This ambitious overhaul of the defence comes in light of the struggles Manchester United have faced at the start of the season, as they have yet to keep a clean sheet in any league match.
