Antoine Semenyo has quickly made his mark as a vital player for Manchester City under the guidance of Enzo Maresca. The manager has praised the winger's form ahead of the upcoming derby against Manchester United.
Semenyo has started in all five of the team's official matches this season, providing assists in victories against Crystal Palace and Coventry City.
While the Ghanaian has yet to find the net himself, Maresca is convinced that the player is already making a difference on the pitch.
Antoine is putting in a monumental amount of work. Remember our first goal against Crystal Palace? That was his cross. He also provided an assist in the match against Coventry City. He’s incredibly useful both in possession and pressing, and he contributes immensely to the team.
The manager also highlighted that Semenyo should no longer be viewed simply as a newcomer signed in January, as the 26-year-old has quickly emerged as one of the squad's leaders.
Marc Guehi is currently one of our captains, and Antoine has already transformed into a full-fledged leader in the starting XI.
Expect Semenyo to once again be in the starting lineup against United in the derby.
