An investment consortium including Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin has sealed a deal to acquire a 30% stake in Liverpool from Fenway Sports Group (FSG). The deal is valued at £1.65 billion, bringing the total valuation of the Merseyside club to £5.5 billion.
The sale of this share to investors will allow Liverpool to significantly boost their transfer budget and target the signing of several star players.
Five key transfer targets for Liverpool
Bradley Barcola (PSG) — Priority No. 1:
The runners-up of last season's Premier League have agreed on personal contract terms with the 23-year-old winger for the French national team. Liverpool previously made a £120 million offer, but Paris Saint-Germain are holding out for £145 million. With the newfound financial backing, Liverpool are well-positioned to meet this demand, despite Arsenal's interest.
Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa):
In response to ongoing defensive issues, the club is prepared to spend £60 million on the 28-year-old England international to bolster their backline and provide options on the right side and centre of defence. Arsenal is also in for Konsa.
Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace):
The Reds aim to refresh their central midfield with the addition of the 22-year-old. Palace value the player at £70 million, with Chelsea also showing interest.
Michael Olise (Bayern Munich):
New owners are eager to establish Liverpool as the number one club in the world, and potentially signing Olise is seen as a key step in strengthening their attack.
Niko Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund) — Plan for 2027:
Manager Andoni Iraola views the 26-year-old German as a long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk. A potential deal is estimated at €60 million (£51 million) and is planned for the next transfer window due to the player's ankle ligament injury sustained during the 2026 World Cup.
