15-Second Brief
Liverpool show strong interest in Michael Kayode and Kevin Schade from Brentford. The right-back is a priority target for monitoring ahead of 2027, while the German player could be pursued as early as January.

Liverpool are reportedly tracking two Brentford stars — Michael Kayode and Kevin Schade. If the Merseysiders move for both players, the total outlay could reach approximately £115 million.

According to CaughtOffside, 22-year-old Kayode is amongst the top targets on Liverpool’s radar. The right-back has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham, but it is Liverpool who are believed to be making the most significant inquiries into his availability.

However, discussions between the clubs have yet to commence. Liverpool are considering Kayode as a potential transfer target for 2027.

The Italian defender made the switch to Brentford from Fiorentina, initially joining on loan in January 2025 before a permanent transfer for €17.5 million was finalised in the summer. He has established himself in the Premier League and is capable of playing on either flank of defence.

Liverpool's interest is further driven by concerns over their right flank. Jeremy Frimpong has struggled to adequately replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Conor Bradley is currently recovering from a serious knee injury. Signing Kayode would also allow manager Andoni Iraola to use Dominik Szoboszlai more regularly in the midfield.

However, negotiating with Brentford for Kayode will not be straightforward. The defender is contracted until June 2032, and reports suggest Brentford may demand a fee of no less than €60-65 million.

At the same time, Liverpool are exploring an option for Kevin Schade. The 24-year-old German has made a strong start to the season, netting three goals in his first five Premier League appearances, and he is viewed as a player who can compete for a spot across Liverpool's attacking line.

Brentford have already opened talks with Schade’s representatives regarding a new improved contract. If an agreement cannot be reached, Liverpool may take decisive action. Schade's potential price tag is estimated to be around £60 million.

This means Liverpool could spend roughly £115 million for the two transfers. While the situation with Schade could evolve sooner, potentially in January, Kayode is primarily being considered as a long-term option for 2027.
