Khaldoon Al Mubarak, chairman of Manchester City, has publicly responded for the first time to the independent commission’s ruling that found the club guilty of 114 out of 115 financial regulation breaches.
In a letter to supporters, Al Mubarak emphasised that the legal process is far from over and the club's stance remains unchanged.
'Our confidence is just as strong'
The City chief reiterated his unwavering support for the club's position and expressed determination to prove its innocence.
'The Premier League process is still far from over, and our confidence and intent to prove the club's innocence remain as strong as they did from the outset.'
Al Mubarak explained why the club is currently unable to disclose additional details.
'There's so much I would love to share with you to help explain why we are so confident in our position. However, the strict confidentiality of the legal process and our commitment to uphold it means that I can't do that right now.'
According to the chairman, even the letter to fans underwent several legal reviews.
'Nothing has changed'
Al Mubarak urged fans to carefully consider the club’s statements released after the commission's verdict and in February 2023.
He acknowledged that there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the case, yet the position of Manchester City remains steadfast.
'While some people rushed to make their own conclusions, and there’s a lot of noise around us now, nothing has changed.'
The chairman added that the club has faced significant challenges before and plans to continue operating in the same manner.
'We have faced difficulties together and overcome them. There are many who wish to undermine the advancement of our club. We will not let them.'
Al Mubarak highlighted upcoming major matches
Despite the ongoing proceedings, the City chairman urged fans to look ahead.
After the international break, the team will travel to Anfield before hosting PSG at the Etihad in the Champions League.
'These moments allow us to celebrate the strength of the Manchester City family.'
