Former Manchester City star and two-time Premier League champion Joleon Lescott believes Arsenal are set to defend their title without too much trouble this season.
Lescott, reflecting on Arsenal's current form, stated:
Who will become the Premier League champion? It’s still early to make definite conclusions, but I’ll say Arsenal. They simply have fewer problems and obstacles in their path. Mikel Arteta has a fully integrated squad, and the lads have developed a genuine belief in themselves. I know how tough it is to win the title back-to-back, but right now, Arsenal looks a class above everyone else.
As for City, there are genuine concerns. It's not just about the defeat; it's the chasm that was evident on the pitch during the Super Cup. I doubt Enzo Maresca feels ashamed, but he is undoubtedly very disappointed. Losing 0-3 to a key rival before the season starts is a tough blow. Opponents of Arsenal should be scared seeing the level at which they’re already playing.
