Hull City have announced the signing of defender Nobel Mendy from Rayo Vallecano for €23.4 million. The Spaniards had recently bought him from Real Betis for €3.5 million. Mendy will wear the number 32 shirt at his new club.

Hull City have secured a major transfer, bringing in central defender Nobel Mendy.

The 22-year-old has made the move from Spanish side Rayo Vallecano, with the fee reported to be €23.4 million.

The transfer was officially announced on August 12th. Interestingly, Rayo Vallecano had only just signed Mendy from Real Betis for a mere €3.5 million earlier this summer.

During the last La Liga campaign, Mendy featured in 24 matches, netting two goals from his position at the back.

A left-footed player known for his height and defensive prowess, Mendy will don the number 32 shirt at his new club.

Hull's head coach, Sergei Yakirovich, is optimistic about the signing and hopes Mendy will bolster the team's defence ahead of a challenging season in the Premier League.
