Gary Neville has launched criticism at Robert Sanchez after Chelsea's narrow 3-2 victory over Fulham. The Spaniard made a pivotal mistake leading to the hosts' opening goal, and the pundit believes Sanchez's shaky performances could pose a significant threat to Xabi Alonso’s team.
Even before the match, Neville expressed his appreciation for Chelsea’s current squad but insisted that they need a stronger goalkeeper:
For the first time in a long while, I'm genuinely impressed with the core of Chelsea's team. Perhaps it would make sense to replace the goalkeeper with a more competent option, although it seems that won’t happen.
After Sanchez's blunder, which allowed Joshua King to level the score, Neville's tone became even more critical:

We need to be cautious when critiquing goalkeepers or any players. But Robert Sanchez is genuinely undermining Chelsea’s position. He has made far too many mistakes. It’s simply unacceptable.
This could undo all the hard work Chelsea have put in. It's a significant issue for the team. I don’t know if Emiliano Martinez is available, but they need someone of that calibre.
Despite his concerns over the goalkeeper position, Neville maintains that Chelsea have the potential to challenge for top spots, although competing against the reigning champions will be a tall order:
Given the quality and confidence of Arsenal, it will be incredibly challenging to take them on. However, looking at the other contenders and Chelsea’s activity in the transfer market, they find themselves in a decent position. They could contend for second place.
