Erling Haaland has turned heads with a sudden change in his appearance just before the Premier League kicks off. The Manchester City striker has cropped his distinctive long blonde hair, a style that has become synonymous with him over recent years.
The Norwegian shared a video showcasing his fresh haircut on social media just ahead of City's opening match against Bournemouth, captioning it: 'New season — new haircut.'
One of the first people he decided to call was Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who Haaland has frequently hailed as one of his football heroes. Ibrahimovic's reaction was predictably entertaining.
He quipped:
What’s this? Did you lose a bet or something? I’m blocking you and deleting your number. Don’t call me anymore.
Haaland also revealed his new look to Pep Guardiola, who responded with characteristic self-deprecation:
You're lucky to have any hair at all. I wish I had some. It looks fine. If you don’t like it, it’ll grow back.
Jack Grealish, meanwhile, couldn’t hold back his laughter:
