Chelsea remains interested in Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott and could make a fresh attempt to sign him in January. According to the Daily Mail, the London club will be among the leading contenders for the 23-year-old if Bournemouth decides to change its position and allow a sale.
In the summer, Chelsea actively pursued a transfer, with Bournemouth rebuffing their £64 million offer in July. In total, the Cherries turned down three bids from the London outfit before the window closed.
Scott has also rejected several contract extension offers from Bournemouth, with his current deal lasting for another two years.
Since the transfer window closed, the midfielder has maintained his place in the starting lineup, even scoring in the Premier League. In September, Thomas Tuchel once again called up Scott for England's Nations League matches against Spain, Croatia, and the Czech Republic.
Chelsea's interest is heightened by recent midfield difficulties. In the summer, Xabi Alonso's side lost Enzo Fernandez, who moved to Manchester City for £125 million, while injury to Moises Caicedo has further limited the manager's options.
Scott is versatile in the centre of the park and has valuable Premier League experience. Nevertheless, Bournemouth, having already rejected £64 million alongside two other offers, has yet to show willingness to part ways with him.
