15-Second Brief
As the summer transfer window approaches its end, several high-profile deals are caught in endless negotiations. Among the most tiresome sagas are Liverpool's attempts to buy Bradley Barcola, uncertainty surrounding Marcus Rashford, and ongoing talks regarding Julian Alvarez.
Every summer brings high-profile transfers, but some stories drag on so long that they become tiresome. By the end of the transfer window, five major sagas have left fans on edge.
Five drawn-out transfer stories
- Bradley Barcola: Liverpool have been attempting to complete a deal for the winger for about seven weeks, having already agreed on personal terms. The main stumbling block is PSG, who are demanding a staggering £145 million for the player.
- Savinho: Tottenham are offering over £60 million for the Brazilian, which is double the fee Manchester City paid to sign him. However, Enzo Maresca is in no rush to part with the winger until he assesses the depth of his attack.
- Marcus Rashford: Barcelona have turned their sights away from the Manchester United winger in favour of Anthony Gordon. Now, the Mancunians are left to pretend they're ready for reconciliation with Rashford, although both parties would likely prefer to move on.
- Julian Alvarez: Atletico are holding firm on their £130 million asking price, which Barcelona simply cannot meet. The forward has had to apologise to his teammates for his public desire to leave, while a lurking Arsenal have failed to make a serious offer.
- Enzo Fernandez: Chelsea set a deadline for Manchester City to secure the Argentine's signing, which has now passed. Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca and Xabi Alonso are left waiting to see if the midfielder will opt for a conflict to force through a transfer.
