Barcelona faces a pressing need to make sales and could part ways with several players in January. Frenkie de Jong, Alejandro Balde, and Jules Kounde are among those on the chopping block, while the club does not plan to sell Dani Olmo.

Barcelona is considering a number of high-profile sales as they head towards the January transfer window. Faced with the need to trim expenses, the Catalan club is reportedly open to letting go of Frenkie de Jong, Alejandro Balde, and Jules Kounde.

Insider sources reveal that intermediaries have already been sounding out clubs regarding interest in De Jong and Balde, with Kounde now being added to that list.

The French defender caught the eye of Chelsea in the past, although discussions didn’t progress to a formal bid during the summer. The Londoners were weighing up a deal before shifting their focus elsewhere.

It’s important to note that the push to sell these players is primarily driven by Barcelona itself. Both Kounde and Balde are not particularly eager to leave the club, yet the hierarchy is willing to entertain suitable offers that could help resolve their financial challenges.

In stark contrast is Dani Olmo’s situation, with reports suggesting he may be sold in January being categorically inaccurate.

Interest in Olmo sprouted from clubs in Saudi Arabia during the summer, but the player was keen to remain at Barcelona and did not engage in any negotiations. Furthermore, Hansi Flick considers him a pivotal member of the squad.

Recently, Olmo’s name has also been mentioned in connection with Chelsea and Arsenal, but there have been no discussions about a potential transfer. As it stands, his exit this January is not on the table.

Thus, the primary candidates for potential departures in January are De Jong, Balde, and Kounde. However, talks regarding their transfers are not yet in an advanced stage.
