Aston Villa have made an approach for Brugge defender Hoehl Ordones. The 22-year-old Ecuadorian is among the top three candidates to replace Konsa.

Aston Villa have made official contact with Belgian side Brugge regarding a transfer for 22-year-old central defender and Ecuador international Hoehl Ordones.

As reported by insiders The Athletic David Ornstein and Jacob Tanswell, the Birmingham club are taking determined steps to bolster their defence.

Following the sale of key defender Ezri Konsa to Arsenal for £51 million (plus add-ons) last Friday, Ordones has emerged as one of three priority candidates for the replacement.

The potential overall financial package for the Ecuadorian is believed to be more lucrative than those for other alternative targets the club is weighing up.
