Liverpool are set for a major midfield reshuffle with Curtis Jones on his way out of the club.
The new boss, Andoni Iraola, has no intention of bringing in another player for rotation purposes. Instead, he has demanded that the club prioritize signing a marquee midfielder before the transfer window closes.
On Iraola's shortlist are names like Kouadio Kone, Martin Zubimendi, Angelo Stiller, and prominently, Moises Caicedo from Chelsea. Outsized significance is placed on the Ecuadorian, who has become Iraola's top target as the coach believes Caicedo can provide the side with the much-needed strength, tackling prowess, and intensity for complete control in midfield.
Liverpool are prepared to make a substantial bid for Caicedo, despite Chelsea's reluctance to part with their star player. Iraola is determined to construct a midfield capable of competing at the highest level in Europe, going toe-to-toe with the likes of Rodri at Barcelona and Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid.
