Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has heaped praise on Chelsea's signing of goalkeeper Emiliano 'Dibu' Martinez. The Argentine legend believes that his fellow countryman will play a crucial role in the team, tackling the Blues' persistent defensive woes single-handedly.
In a recent interview with Stake, Aguero highlighted that consistency at the back is exactly what Chelsea has been missing:
This is a quality signing. Chelsea has, at times, conceded too many goals. It won’t be easy at first; Dibu will need to settle in with his teammates and defenders, which will take a few matches. However, he will become a vital player in many games because he has the ability to win matches all on his own.
Aguero used Gianluigi Donnarumma's recent standout save against Manchester United as a prime example of top-notch goalkeeping:
The way Donnarumma recently saved a one-on-one against United is exactly the type of thing Dibu does regularly. This is a magnificent transfer.

I think the transfer of Barco is also an excellent move. He’s a young lad with immense talent and crazy energy. Once he finds his rhythm on the pitch, he will do brilliantly. But we’ll see what happens over the year and whether the club wants to keep him long term. That’s a whole different story.
