Sergio Aguero believes Cristiano Ronaldo is capable of finishing his career with 1000 official goals.
Following his recent strike for Al Nasr, the 41-year-old Portuguese forward now boasts an impressive tally of 979 goals, leaving him just 21 away from that historic milestone:
I don't know how long he's planning to keep playing, but he only needs 21 goals. He's definitely capable of doing that. I'm not sure what his plans are after the season or if he'll stick around for another year. Scoring isn't easy, but he does it consistently.
He's like Leo; whenever he steps onto the pitch, there's a good chance he'll find the net. If Cristiano stays for another season, I think he can reach 1000 goals.
The former Manchester City striker admitted that if he were in Ronaldo's position, he would continue playing to reach this incredible landmark:
I don't know if he plans to keep going, but since he's so close, he may as well give it a shot. If I were Cristiano, I'd be thinking: 'Right, there's no choice — I have to play for another year.'
And then we'll see if it happens or not. Even if he doesn’t make it, it changes nothing. He should still be immensely proud, as scoring that many goals is practically impossible.
The same goes for Leo. Their figures simply can't be compared to anyone else. I'd keep going just because I love round numbers.
