Agent Radu Dragusin has admitted that the defender's move to Tottenham hasn't gone as they expected. The Romanian turned down Bayern Munich for his Premier League dream and now aims to establish himself at Fiorentina, where he is on loan.

Radu Dragusin's agent, Florin Manea, has admitted that the defender's transfer to Tottenham has not lived up to expectations. The Romanian player, who had aspirations of competing in the Premier League, is currently on loan at Fiorentina and is keen to remain in Italy.

Dragusin joined Tottenham from Genoa in 2024. Before the transfer, he was also on the radar of Bayern Munich and Napoli, but the player opted for a move to England.

Speaking on the situation, agent Florin Manea stated:

We were close to a move to Napoli, but life can be unpredictable. At that time, both Bayern and Tottenham were interested in him. I even spoke with Aurelio De Laurentiis in 2023.

We told Bayern that we were heading to England because Radu's dream was to play in the Premier League. Things haven't quite worked out as we had hoped, but that's part of life.

During his time at Tottenham, Dragusin featured in 35 Premier League matches but struggled to establish himself in the first team, with a serious knee injury hampering his progress.

Now, the agent of the 24-year-old defender is optimistic that his client will remain in Florence. The loan agreement includes an obligation to buy after 20 appearances:

He came to Florence with the intention of staying. He has a loan with an obligatory purchase after 20 matches, and I have no doubt he will achieve that. Radu arrived with the goal of making his mark at Fiorentina.
