The Premier League has officially opened voting for fans to select the best player of the fifth round of the championship. Seven players, who put on impressive performances this past weekend, have made the shortlist.
The standout candidates come from the thrilling encounter at the Etihad Stadium, where Manchester City claimed a 5-3 victory over Sunderland. The Black Cats’ forward Brian Brobbey netted a sensational hat-trick, while City’s Antoine Semenyo contributed with a brace, playing a crucial role in the leaders' success.
Other contenders for the accolade include:
- Harvey Barnes (Newcastle United);
- Pascal Gross (Brighton);
- Joao Manzambi (Aston Villa);
- Yannick Shuster (Brentford);
- Jay Dasilva (Coventry City).
The voting on the Premier League's official digital platforms will run until 12:00 BST (14:00 Moscow time) on Wednesday, 23rd September, after which the league will announce the winner.
