15-Second Brief
Yves Bissouma continues his career at Ajax following his summer exit from Tottenham. The 30-year-old midfielder signed a contract for this season, with an option to extend for another year. The Amsterdam club has been in talks with the player since August.

Yves Bissouma has joined Ajax on a free transfer. The 30-year-old midfielder signed a deal that runs until the end of this season, with the potential for an additional year.

Bissouma had been without a club since his departure from Tottenham in June. His contract with the Londoners expired, allowing Ajax to secure his services without a transfer fee.

Ajax’s technical director, Jordi Cruyff, revealed that discussions with the player had been ongoing since August:

We have signed an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level. He is capable of playing in several positions, and we hope he will be ready to take to the pitch as soon as possible.

Bissouma moved to Tottenham from Brighton in 2022, making 111 appearances for the North London side. During his final season with Spurs, he played just 11 times, all in the Premier League.

Ajax continues to focus on a blend of young talent and seasoned professionals. Cruyff has previously explained that having a significant number of young players in the squad necessitates the presence of more experienced partners to help them cope with pressure.
