Nobody can deny the impact of Yoan Vissa in Newcastle United's impressive 2-0 victory over Tottenham, where he scored the second goal. In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Vissa showered praise on the club's new head coach, Matthias Jaisle, while reflecting on his long-awaited return from injury.
The Congolese forward highlighted the tactical attention to detail that Jaisle brings to the club:
'Eddie Howe did a top job, and we must respect that. But the new coach has brought his own identity. We're working on every aspect of our game in minute detail. He’s an incredibly dynamic coach, and we need to give our all. He’s the best signing for Newcastle.'
Vissa also spoke on the team spirit amongst the revamped squad as they tackle challenges:
'Of course, we've lost a lot of players, but the club has worked brilliantly. It’s a great challenge ahead. We need each person to step up. For instance, I didn’t get much playing time last season, but now I have a chance and I need to enjoy every moment. There are many new faces in the team – Amar (Dedich) was incredible today, and Anthony (Elanga) really shone. With supporters like ours, no one can stop us.'
'I'm injury-free, feeling confident. I trust myself, the coach, the club, and my teammates. Last year was tough, but I know the team well, and they know me. This is just the beginning.'
