The tensions erupted on the pitch during the matchup with Fulham and escalated into a brawl post-final whistle, with James grabbing Neto by the throat and dragging him towards the tunnel, prompting club staff to intervene.
The Spanish manager revealed he missed the incident in the dressing room as he was already heading to the post-match press conference. However, he candidly assessed the on-field episode:
During the game, I saw one player fully committed to the fight, doing everything for the team's victory, while another seemed to be going through the motions. That’s why Reece, as the captain, demanded Pedro stay in the game and show the same level of commitment. I won’t allow my players to switch off and coast when the rest of the team is giving everything to achieve the desired result.
