This summer, Liverpool made two official bids for the winger, but Brighton's hierarchy rejected both due to their high asking price. Minte spoke about the situation during a match for the Africa Cup of Nations qualification between Gambia and Somalia:
I'm fully focused. I'm at Brighton, that's the team I represent. This is my club, and I don’t want to talk too much about transfers. Whatever is meant to happen by the will of God, I accept.
The winger added that his main goal remains recovering from injury and getting back on the pitch:
I really want to return and help the team, as they’re doing brilliantly right now. As soon as I'm back in shape, I'll do everything I can for the team.
When questioned about the exact timeline for his return to full training, the Gambian player had a brief reply:
