Former Manchester United captain and all-time leading scorer, Wayne Rooney, has revealed his thoughts on the upcoming Premier League campaign.
The expert believes that reigning champions Arsenal will dominate as their rivals undergo rebuilding phases.
Wayne Rooney:
I would settle for a top-four finish. I think Manchester United will end up around fourth place, but the club still needs to secure two or three more players. Arsenal and City are strong, while Chelsea will be much improved, and Tottenham will also step up. Arsenal have everything they need to pull away from the pack, while behind them, it will be a complete scramble. Dreaming of a title for United right now is unrealistic.
Michael Carrick has done brilliantly to get the team back into the Champions League. The key now is not to fall out of it. It's uncertain how City will cope without Pep Guardiola and what Liverpool will bring to the table, but the battle for a top-four spot will be fierce. United’s goal should be to remain competitive, aiming for second and preparing to challenge for the title next season.
