Viktor Munoz believes that the high intensity of English football is aiding his rapid development. The Liverpool winger discussed the differences between the Premier League and La Liga following his summer transfer from Osasuna.
The Spanish forward made the switch to Anfield for a fee of €40 million, becoming the first signing for newly-appointed Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola. The Merseysiders fended off interest from Newcastle to secure his signature.
Ahead of Spain's Nations League match against the Czech Republic, Munoz opened up about his adaptation to the rigours of English football.
He noted significant contrasts between the two top European leagues. According to Munoz, Spanish football places a greater emphasis on tactics, while the Premier League is characterised by physical battles and intensity.
“I definitely notice the differences between La Liga and the Premier League. In Spain, there is much more focus on tactics. Matches in the Premier League are more physical. The intensity of training is really high, and you feel that difference straight away. All this helps me grow,” he said to reporters on Thursday.
