Victor Munoz will not play for Spain against England in their upcoming Nations League fixture.
The Liverpool striker has been left out of the matchday squad, alongside England's Rio Ngumoa.
Munoz left out of the squad
The match will take place at Wembley on Saturday as part of Group 3 in League A for the 2026/27 season. Both teams are vying for the top spot in their group.
It was announced ahead of the match that Munoz had not made the final squad for Spain.
Importantly, Munoz is fit and well; his exclusion is simply due to the limit on the number of players eligible for selection.
A similar situation has arisen with Rio Ngumoa, who England manager Thomas Tuchel has also left out of the 23-man squad.
Two players miss out on the match
Consequently, Munoz and Ngumoa will miss one of the most eagerly anticipated matches of the group stage, although both players are still with their national teams.
For Liverpool fans, this means both players will enjoy a bit of extra rest before returning to domestic duty.
Munoz's absence has also come as a surprise to manager Antony Iraola, as the forward continues to fight for his place in the Liverpool lineup following his move to the club.
