Sergio Aguero has praised Lille midfielder Ayoub Bouaddi, claiming he possesses the qualities necessary to step in for Rodri at Manchester City.
Rodri's departure has been a significant blow for Enzo Maresca's side, compounded by the exit of Tijjani Reijnders, who joined Al-Qadisiya. As transfer deadline day looms, City are keen to strengthen their midfield options.
One player being considered is the 18-year-old Bouaddi, who Aguero highlights for his impressive maturity and ability to initiate attacks from deep:
I hold Ayoub Bouaddi in high regard. He performed at an incredibly high level during the World Cup. Despite his age, he showed remarkable maturity when transitioning his team from defence.
He has all the qualities to be a fantastic replacement for Rodri, who has always been immensely important for City.
The Argentine also had positive words for Elliot Anderson, who has already enhanced City's midfield:
