Roy Keane labelled Manchester City's midfield as the worst in the top six after Rodri's transfer to Barcelona, while Gary Neville ruled the club out of the title race.

Sky Sports experts Roy Keane and Gary Neville have sharply condemned Manchester City's transfer approach after the departure of pivotal midfielder Rodri to Barcelona for £65 million.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane asserted that the loss of the Spanish playmaker significantly diminishes City’s chances of clinching the title this season:

Listen, we’ll go through the details in a moment, but for me, it is without a doubt the weakest midfield among all the ‘big six’ — it’s Manchester City. Look at that central quartet... To talk about winning the league without him? No chance for Manchester City.

Gary Neville wholeheartedly backed his fellow pundit, labelling the club's decision as shocking:

I think it’s an absolute nightmare. I don’t believe they can win the league without him. A shocking decision.

Manchester City has really surprised me. When you consider Pep Guardiola's potential departure, the appointment of a new manager, and the fact that Rodri was a genuine leader on the pitch, the idea of selling him for that kind of money is completely baffling to me. I just don’t get it.
